Waste Management's ALLIANCE LANDFILL is a municipal solid waste landfill operating under the strict regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) and the US Environmental Protection Agency. It began operating as a modern, lined and capped landfill in 1987. The landfill is permitted to accept non-hazardous household, commercial and industrial waste, including special wastes. Alliance does not accept infectious, hazardous, radioactive, unprocessed medical, or liquid wastes.

To ensure environmental protection, Alliance Landfill is constructed with a double-liner system that exceeds state regulatory specifications. The liner system is equipped with a wastewater collection system. In addition, an extensive gas collection system removes landfill gas that is produced by the decomposition of the waste.

Hours of Operation:
Weekdays, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturdays, 7 to 11 a.m.
Closed on Sundays and Holidays

Drive-up Customer Disposal Hours:
Weekdays, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Saturdays, 8 to 11 a.m.
(effective August 2, 2008)

NOTE:
Due to county regulations, Alliance Landfill is no longer able to accept waste from Luzerne County.

Alliance Landfill accepts checks and MasterCard and Visa for disposal services. The Landfill does not accept cash payments.
